ORLANDO, Fla. | January 12, 2026 — Optima, Meta, Samsung, and Vivi are partnering to deliver a fully immersive learning experience inside the FETC Classroom at the Future of Education Technology Conference (FETC), taking place January 11–14, 2026, in Orlando, Florida.
Across 19 instructional sessions, attendees will participate in immersive learning experiences led by Optima Academy Online (OAO that showcases how four industry leaders are working together to transform education. Each session demonstrates the integrated technology ecosystem: participants will experience instruction through Meta Quest headsets, view live feeds on Samsung displays, and observe real-time screen mirroring through Vivi’s wireless presentation system. This synchronized setup enables shared observation, guided discussion, and instructional modeling.
Meta provides the foundational immersive technology through Meta Quest headsets, allowing participants to experience virtual learning environments from the same perspective as students and teachers in real classrooms.
Samsung powers the shared viewing experience with large-format displays that bring the individual VR experience into a collaborative classroom setting, enabling group discussion and observation.
Vivi enables seamless wireless connectivity and screen mirroring across devices, ensuring that what happens inside the headsets can be instantly shared, discussed, and analyzed by all attendees.
Optima Academy Online brings proven instructional expertise and real-world implementation experience. Sessions will be led by Dr. Kim Abel, Head of School, alongside OAO’s teaching staff, who will model how immersive tools can be intentionally integrated into daily instruction.
Optima Academy Online’s instructional leadership at FETC is grounded in real-world outcomes. During the 2024–2025 school year, OAO students in grades K–8 demonstrated above-typical growth in both reading and math on i-Ready assessments, exceeding national benchmarks while serving nearly twice the national average percentage of Exceptional Student Education (ESE) students. These results highlight the potential of immersive learning environments to support academic growth across diverse learners when paired with strong instruction.
At Optima Academy Online, immersive learning moves instruction beyond passive, two-dimensional content. Students actively explore concepts in virtual environments while teachers guide discussion, reflection, and application using connected classroom technology. This approach illustrates how immersive tools, when thoughtfully implemented, can enhance focus, engagement, and conceptual understanding across grade levels.
“The FETC VR Classroom allows educators to experience immersive learning the way it is designed to function in real schools,” Dr. Kim Abel, Head of School at Optima Academy Online, said. “By placing attendees inside the student experience and sharing that experience across the classroom, we can demonstrate how immersive technology supports instruction, collaboration, and deeper learning.”
The collaboration reflects each company’s commitment to advancing immersive education: Meta through cutting-edge VR hardware, Samsung through display technology that facilitates shared learning, Vivi through connectivity solutions that enable seamless collaboration, and Optima through instructional design and proven implementation strategies.
Conference attendees are encouraged to attend sessions in the FETC Classroom to experience this collaborative approach to immersive learning in action.
