What do students think about Optima?

Science is my favorite subject because I love learning about space and the solar system. Using Virtual Reality, we got to go to the Apollo 1 site in Cape Canaveral and do a live class!

It’s way different (than FLVS)–it’s a 3D experience instead of staring at something that’s 2D, like a computer. I think it’s easier to make friends. People here seem really nice. It’s kind of like a game but it’s also school at the same time. Learning in VR is a better experience. Optima Academy Online engages you way more.

When you are at a brick-and-mortar school you sit at a desk usually doing papers and stuff but here we go into VR most of the time or Teams. An IFX is a thing you can put into VR, like a table In my ELA class we read a story and then act it out in IFX. We got to go to the Apollo 1 site and do a science class there. You do fun activities in VR and in Teams.

This school is definitely more interactive. The headsets definitely help out instead of sitting at a desk all day. It’s easier to learn whenever you are interacting with things. Our teachers are so upbeat.

I like the fact that if I get overwhelmed, I can step away. I struggle with getting overwhelmed easily and in a public school environment I can’t step away. We are able to do presentations and perform skits. Optima Academy Online is one of the best.
